About the Item

This handsome solid oak cabinet was crafted in 18th century England to function like a armoire or closet. A series of iron hooks are mounted to the interior for hanging coats and other garments on, as the narrow depth of the case would not be ideal for a standard rod. Thumbnail-molded paneling on the front and sides give it fantastic depth of color with visual presence to draw one in for a closer look. The door is carved with four panels below an alternating rosette motif resembling cathedral windows, indicative of the cultural and historical context when this fantastic storage piece was made.
