About the Item
Vintage French Louis XV / Provincial style wedding armoire / wardrobe / linen press or display cabinet, circa last quarter 20th century. Made of mahogany featuring baroque styling with a carved crown over a floral bird theme. The armoire has paneled doors with beveled glass top allowing for use as a display cabinet. The central portion of the doors have oval carved floral cartouches. The cabinet opens to two wooden shelves. The shelves could be removed allowing the cabinet to be used as a hanging wardrobe. The cabinet is supported by short cabriole legs at the front and straight legs along the rear.
