About the Item
Grand 18th Century Country French Louis XIV Armoire was created for a spacious manoir, and is the perfect choice for large scale rooms and/or those who need extra storage in spades! Hand-crafted from dense, old-growth oak to last for centuries, it features a classically inspired architecture including bold molding on the crown and base, with arched doors that open wide on the steel barrel hinges for easy access. Note the intricate attention to detail in the molding on just the doors alone, with the frame closely following the contours of the raised panels set on two tiers. The most arresting feature of course is the amazing carved detail on the crown and bonnet, inspired by the Baroque movement that so captivated the Sun King. Even the urn-shaped feet below have received the attentions of the wood sculptor. Steel key guards complete the look.
