And while French and American Deco often steal the spotlight, Italian Art Deco has a voice all its own — one rooted in craftsmanship, proportion, and material beauty. Art Deco was born in 1925 at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. The name “Art Deco” comes from that event — and what followed wasn’t just a design movement. It shaped an entire generation. This wardrobe was made in Italy during the heart of the Art Deco period, and it's a perfect example of that balance. Bookmatched walnut burl forms a bold, symmetrical grain across the front. The original chrome and Bakelite hardware is still intact. Inside, you’ll find a hanging bar, fitted shelving, a built-in shoe rack, and a folding tie rack stamped LWS London — a British hardware maker often sourced for high-end interiors. One of the things that makes this piece even more special? Its scale. Many wardrobes from this period are oversized and hard to place, but this one brings all the impact without requiring a massive footprint. It's ideal for an entryway, guest room, or any space where you want both function and style. This piece is in its original antique condition.
