About the Item
The top portion is removable. The piece can therefore be easily transported through apartment elevators or winding stairs. With a simple custom stand, it can also be used as two separate pieces of furniture.
The original red lacquer interior finish of the cabinet suggests that it was once a wedding piece. Exterior was finished in hand rubbed organic lacquer. Gild painting 95+% original, restored by old world craftsmen with traditional material and technique.
Condition: Excellent.
The cabinet is consisted of two sections. The top section is 23.75" heigh. It was used to store off season clothings. The bottom section, 70.75' tall is the main wardrobe. With the top cabinet in place the entire cabinet is 94.5" tall. Hand painted gilded painting of landscape scene fill the front of the two pairs of doors. Gilded floral painting surrounds the the border.
The wood is elm. Finished in organic lacquer. All hardware are original - confirming the age of the piece.
