About the Item

A very beautiful natural walnut armoire with two doors, featuring a wide diamond-point decoration. The cornice is straight. The armoire rests on curly feet. Louis XIII period - 17th century - Eastern France The Louis XIII style is a specifically French style of decoration, furniture, and architecture, spanning the period from 1610 to 1661. Characteristic of a transitional period between the Renaissance and Baroque styles, from which it gradually assimilated Italian, Spanish, and Flemish influences, it inspired the neo-Louis XIII style in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The diamond-point moldings and very pronounced reliefs are one of the main characteristics of the Louis XIII style.
