About the Item
What a beautiful armoire! The wide crown molding comprises the graceful curves of an ogee molding, mounted on a row of gadrooning. The two doors each have three panels, a long one in the center with a short one above it and beneath. Each panel has two vertical rows of evenly spaced reeding and is secured with bold mullions. The front corners are decorated with applied fluting capped by hand-carved acanthus leaf corbels. The base houses a single long hand-cut dovetailed drawer and the reeded incisions are repeated, both vertically and horizontally on the drawerfront. The doors open a full 180 degrees, making this a candidate for an entertainment center or office desk conversion. The interior has a hat shelf and hanging pole, both easily removable.
