This lovely piece is relatively large for a Vertigo, translated as “Vertical Cabinet, as the Dutch call a medium size cupboard with this configuration of two doors with a single long drawer above. This is a particularly nice example with breakfront trim top and bottom. The shallow top hand-cut dovetailed drawer is bordered with ogee molding, which is also used to form a diamond motif around the zinc escutcheon plate. The doors, which have long raised panels, open 90 degrees on a pivot hinge to reveal a hat shelf and hanging pole. The front corners are decorated with applied fluting, capped with hardwood corbels. This item has a beautiful warm color and attractive grain pattern and affords great storage with a smaller footprint than a full-size armoire
