We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original 1829-1851 dated Antique German Marriage wardrobe of large grand proportions
I have recently purchased a very large collection of these original, antique painted wardrobes and trunks, I have around 15 wardrobes and 20 trunks in total, each one totally different, this sale is for the piece listed above with all others being listed under my other items
This one is an exceptionally good looking well made and collectable wardrobe, the hand painted detailing is exquisite throughout, the piece comes complete with the original lock and key which are fully functional. This one has floral detailing to the front and the dates 1829-1851 which I assume was the period the original owners were married for, poor things!
Inside you have one large hanging railed area, the rail is later, the rest of the inside is a burnt red colour
Condition wise this wardrobe has all the original paint and finish, there will be age and use related patina marks as you would expect, all of which add to the honesty, charm and charisma of the wardrobe
