Vintage American Cherry Louis Philippe Style Armoire by Mt. Airy

In absolutely astonishing condition, you would swear by looking at it that this armoire was brand new. We do know however, that it is not, our customers purchased this exceptional armoire over 30 years ago and placed it in a guest room that was rarely ever used. These customers have now down sized and we are helping them out. An awesome scale, this armoire's dimensions are spot on with some of the authentic antiques we sell. With its two main doors hiding two cleverly hidden full width drawers and a shaped cornice up top, this armoire will be awesome so many places. In the family room stowing the TV, in the master bedroom keeping sweaters and clothes dust free, or as a phenomenal bar in an opulent library fitted with plumbing or not. However you choose, this fine armoire offers classic design and a timeless appearance, too. Don't miss this stellar armoire!! National Mt. Airy The Mount Airy Furniture Company was formed in 1895 by J. F. Yokley, C. R. Merritt and E. H. Kochtitzky and it manufactured case goods including bedroom furniture, executive office furniture, pie safes and various cabinets. Through the years it expanded to include dining room and occasional chairs in its production. It merged in 1966 with the Mount Airy Chair Company which had been formed in 1921, by the Yokley brothers, Bruce and James. An article in 1928 states the manufacturing output included drawing room and dining room chairs, dining room furniture, and bed room chairs. National Mount Airy, produced good quality, furnishings in a traditional manner that were in numerous upscale homes all across our country. Unfortunately, on June 9, 1997, the Mount Airy Furniture Company was completely destroyed by a devastating fire.
