French 1900s Belle Époque Brass and Crystal 10-Light Chandelier with Pendeloques

A French crystal and brass 10-light chandelier from the early 20th century, with ornate pendeloque crystals. Born in the early years of the 20th century during the Belle Époque era, this French chandelier features a brass armature, whose golden hue contrasts beautifully with the translucent quality of the crystal décor. 10 brass arms, combining curves and angular effects, support the simple cup bobèches and their candle sleeves. The central column gently leads the eye downwards, allowing us to marvel at the originality of the pendeloques that drape the chandelier, while a large textured finial gives a perfect visual conclusion to the ensemble. With its lovely Silhouette and contrasting colors, this French Belle Époque...

F. Bouisset, Original Art Nouveau Poster, Chocolat Poulain, Cocoa, Pierrot, 1898
Located in SAINT-OUEN-SUR-SEINE, FR
Original Cocoa Poster by Firmin Bouisset for Chocolat Poulain in 1898. Artist: Firmin Bouisset (1859-1925) Title: Chocolat Poulain Date: vers 1898 Size: 36.6 x 50.8 in / 93 x 129 cm. Printer: Imp. H.LAAS E. PECAUD & Cie, Paris Materials and Techniques: Colour lithograph on paper Linen backing: Yes Condition: A (Designates a poster in very good condition. The colours are fresh and there are no or very few paper losses. If there are imperfections they are marginal and imperceptible.) Additional Details: Advertising poster for Poulain Chocolates produced by Firmin Bouisset circa 1898. Chocolat Poulain is a French company producing chocolate since its foundation in February 1848 by Victor-Auguste Poulain, confectioner in Blois. The horse/foal is the emblem of the company. Firmin Bouisset chose here to represent the brand by a Pierrot holding a chocolate bar in his hand. Pierrot's traditional tears have been replaced with chocolate smeared all over his face. The Pierrot is known for his naivety but also and above all for being trustworthy, and that's probably what Bouisset wanted to highlight here: you can eat Chocolat Poulain with your eyes closed. Firmin Bouisset, born September 2, 1859 in Moissac and died March 19, 1925 in Paris, is a French illustrator, lithographer and poster artist. He was received at the School of Fine Arts in March 1880 in the class of Alexandre Cabanel, and exhibited two paintings the same year at the Salon. He became known especially for his advertising posters, including the small schoolboy LU biscuits, paper cigarette JOB, and the girl's chocolate Menier...

French Louis XV Style Mahogany Ormolu Mounted Side Table by Francois Linke
Located in Los Angeles, CA
A Fine French 19th-20th Century Louis XV style Mahogany, Satinwood and Gilt-Bronze (Ormolu) Mounted Side Table by Franc¸ois Linke (1855-1946). The square shaped table fitted with a Bre^che Violette marble top with a gilt bronze trim, the body surmounted on each corner with bronze caryatid mounts of female busts with laced-tied outfits, the a parquetry apron surmounted with acanthus ormolu mounts and a lower parquetry shelf, all raised on four cabriolet legs ending with gilt bronze sabots. Signed on one mount: F. Linke. Circa: Paris, 1900. François Linke (1855-1946) was one of the most celebrated ébénistes of his time. Born in Pankraz, Bohemia, Linke moved to Paris in 1875 and six years later established independent ateliers at 170, rue de Faubourg St. Antoine. As was the practice among contemporaries and noteworthy predecessors, such as Alfred Beurdeley and Henry Dasson, Linke initially produced furniture derived from styles popular during the 18th century ancien régime. By 1900, his worldwide reputation as an individualistic master of high quality furniture was already established. However, with a huge display, placing his extravagant pieces in room settings and winning the Médaille d'Or for his Grand Bureau...

Antoine Bourdelles, French Belle Epoch, Sculptural Bronze Bookends, Ca. 1910
Located in New York, NY
French Belle Epoch Antoine Bourdelle Sculptural Pair of Bookends Patinated Bronze Edmond Etling & Cie Foundry, Paris ca. 1910 DIMENSIONS Height: 7.5 inches Width: 3.33 inches Depth: 3.33 inches MARKINGS Same markings are present on the plinths of both bookends: Signed 'A. Bourdelle’. Stamped ‘Edmond Etling & Cie Foundry, Paris’ ABOUT BOOKENDS This exquisite pair of bookends, created by the renowned French sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, epitomizes the grace and emotional depth of the Belle Époque era. Each bookend is a remarkable sculpture in its own right, yet when placed together, they form an inseparable narrative composition, bound by a shared plot. One bookend captures the passionate embrace of Harlequin and his mistress, a tender yet intense moment frozen in time. The second bookend portrays Pierrot, lost in the anguish of jealousy, his expression and posture radiating sorrow and longing. Together, these two figurative sculptures create a dramatic scene, where the books they support become part of the stage set, acting as a barrier between the characters—much like a stage wall in a theatrical performance. The interplay of emotion and movement in this captivating sculptural pair makes it a true masterpiece, seamlessly blending art with functionality. ABOUT SCULPTOR Émile Antoine Bordelles (French, 1861 - 1929) was an influential and prolific French sculptor and teacher. He was a student of Auguste Rodin, a teacher of Giacometti and Henri Matisse, and an important figure in the Art Deco movement and the transition from the Beaux-Arts seyle to modern sculp[ture. His studio became the Musee Bourdelle, an art museum dedicated to his work, located at 18, rue Antoine Bourdelle, in the15th arondissement of Paris, France. His very well known for his use of quivering Romanesque forms in his depictions of mythological figures. One of his best known works Hercules the Archer (1909), was a commissioned sculpture for the financier Gabriel Thomas. Born Émile-Antoine Bourdelle on October 30, 1861 in Montauban, France, he learned woodworking as a youth from his father who was a cabinetmaker. While assisting his father during the workday, he studied drawing at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse in the evening. Moving to Paris in 1885, the artist became an assistant to Auguste Rodin in 1893, Rodin’s influence is evident in many of Bourdelle’s early sculptures. By 1900, he had begun receiving commissions for a number of theaters and later taught classes at his studio to young artist such as Alberto Giacometti and Otto Gutfreund...
