About the Item
Available today, this Mid-century bar cart in Pau Marfim hardwood
brass is stunning! Its unique design, for the time, draws attention for its functionality and practicality. It has 3 different positions: Closed is an elegant bar with two levels. Open becomes a flat table and third a three-stage bar.
The wood has been beautifully restored, and the hardware works perfectly. The wheels, left untouched, not only showcase the age of the piece but add a lot of character. Manufacture seal is under the bottom table.
This Brazilian Modern timeless piece would look wonderful in any mid-century modern, modern or boho chic and even Modern Farmhouse environment.
The last image is a vintage publication of Casa e Jardim, Brazil (Edition 43, June 1958, p27) showcasing the piece in its different positions.
Genaro Ming Perez was a Spanish immigrant who arrived in Brazil in the early 1920’s to start, two decades later, the construction of an important modernist furniture factory. His “Genaro Ming Peres – Quality Furniture” began producing in 1949.
In the 1960s, the first store appeared in the Móoca neighborhood, in São Paulo, with the name “Ming Decorações”, offering customers a wide range of products made with quality and originality, like this beautiful cart/table/sealed bar.
