About the Item

Dynamic, versatile, “the life of the party,” we’re not talking about you. Or are we? This Poul Hundevad Danish teak serving cart is more than meets the eye. Compact and unassuming until the party starts. Slide the top tray and position the bottom tray beside it. You’ve doubled the table top to 59 inches! This cart is the perfect party pal for those living in tight spaces. Only 30.25″ long when compact, it takes up little space. When it’s time for a gathering you can turn this baby into a full bar or buffet. Note the fine details like the exposed finger joints and elegantly turned legs. Leave it to the Danes to design such a brilliant, beautiful piece of furniture. This Poul Hundevad serving cart for Vamdrup adapts beautifully between everyday utility and entertaining elegance. In its compact form it measures approximately 30.25 inches long × 20 inches deep × 23.5 inches high. When expanded, by sliding the top tray aside and positioning the removable bottom tray up alongside it, the overall length stretches to about 59 inches—a dramatic transformation from modest footprint to generous serving surface. Beautifully restored throughout, the trays and body have been refinished to renew the wood’s warmth and grain clarity; the original wheels/casters have been retained and show only light vintage wear, testament to age rather than neglect. The construction features exposed finger-joints and turned legs, both details that speak of thoughtful craftsmanship and that classic Danish aesthetic: clean joins, functional form, and visual delight in structure. The two trays, each with raised edges of about 1.25 inches, allow safe serving without concern of slipping; the lower tray slides and lifts into place so you can double the surface without fuss—and without losing style. The finish brings the teak alive, making grain patterns sing under natural light, while preserving warmth and organic texture. Small natural blemishes are visible—a knot in the wood on one tray being the most notable—but rather than detract, they authenticate the piece’s vintage heritage. The cart feels solid; the expansion mechanism is smooth; proportions remain harmonious both compact and expanded. Design-wise it lives in that sweet spot of Danish modern where form meets function in unexpected ways—a piece that adapts, transforms, and plays host. It is perfect for tight spaces where flexibility matters, yet when entertaining it becomes a central player: server, bar, or buffet surface. It pairs beautifully with brass accents, among warm woods, with leather furniture or with minimal modern pieces that need a wood statement to warm up. Collectors and lovers of mid-century Danish furniture will appreciate its pedigree (Poul Hundevad / Vamdrup), its restored integrity, and its clever expanding design. Owning this cart means acquiring more than a furniture piece—it means having a versatile, beautiful companion for daily life and festive gathering alike. This listing is for the cart alone. Accessories and chair pictured are not included. The trays and body have been refinished. Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Foster-McDavid, Arne Vodder, Jens Risom, Brown Saltman
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...
