About the Item

A lovely, antique two-tier cart or étagère, with a Madeleine Castaing English-bohemian vibe. Its ebonized finish is paired with aged brass-painted wood baluster railings. This étagère would be a great bar cart, with casters on bottom for mobility. It’s also perfect in a bathroom for extra towels or any space needing a little extra storage. It’s timeless and classic. What makes this piece even more special is its provenance, once belonging to today’s tastemaker and art collectors Carolina and (ex-husband) Ian Irving. Carolina is renowned textile designer (exclusive to the trade), Creative Director of Home for Oscar De La Renta, former Editor at Elle Décor, House and Garden, and Vogue Living. She’s been featured in House Beautiful, World of Interiors, Domino Magazine, Traditional Home Magazine, British Vogue and more. Ian is an internationally known master in English and European silver, also known for his exceptional taste, expertise and style. If you enjoy beautiful, historic pieces with a cherished story and provenance, this étagère is for you! We know, it’s hard to find, one-of-a-kind pieces!
