Antique English George III Mahogany Demi Lune Console Tea Table C.1790
An elegant English George III mahogany demi-lune table of refined proportions in the Heppelwhite manner. The demi lune top opens to form a full circular table, raised on square-tapered legs terminating in spade feet and a rare gateleg.
The frieze is finely inlaid with satinwood stringing and oval neoclassical medallions, showcasing the period’s taste for delicate ornamentation. Constructed primarily of richly figured mahogany, the top displays attractive grain with natural age-related patina consistent with its period.
The table retains its original folding mechanism and proportions, with some surface wear commensurate with age (Please see photos).
