About the Item
This antique mahogany card table presents as a demi lune shaped console table and opens to a newer green lined game surface. It is a refined George III period piece and a beautiful example of late 18th/ early 19th century English craftsmanship. Expertly crafted in rich mahogany, the table is embellished with finely executed marquetry panels and crossbanding, including an inlaid shell motif to the center front--an iconic neoclassical detail of the George III period. The tapered legs end in spade feet, contributing to its light, balanced silhouette. The table's duel-purpose design and sophisticated inlay make it an excellent choice for collectors of Georgian furniture or anyone looking to add historic charm to their home. Truly a refined and sophisticated piece!
