About the Item
New finds from an old elementary school in Ibaraki pref., Japan.
This vintage low table - or bench, was manufactured circa 1920s to 40s (early Showa era), estimate from the style
conditions.
Made of Hinoki cypress, naturally turned into pale, grayish color by age.
It's still durable enough for actual use, also wide
stable enough to put some heavy objects.
Note to the customers :
- The edge of the top board is a bit damaged, near one of the corners. Please check the close detail at picture 14.
- The top surface of the board is partly repaired with matching vintage cypress board, looks like filling in the hole. Please check the close detail at picture 10.
