Exceptional Viennese Biedermeier Walnut Pedestal Table.
Vienna, circa 1825
An exceptional and rare Viennese Biedermeier pedestal table, made in Vienna around 1825 and representing the highest level of refinement, proportion, and craftsmanship characteristic of authentic Biedermeier furniture.
True Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by its elegant simplicity, architectural clarity, and timeless design—qualities that continue to influence modern interiors and remain highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
This elegant tilt-top pedestal table features a beautifully preserved, highly figured book-matched walnut veneer with a deep, warm amber tone and an outstanding naturally developed 200-year-old patina. The circular top rests on a finely proportioned cylindrical column, supported by a graceful three-armed base with refined classical elements.
The table has been professionally restored in our own workshop in Vienna, using original 19th-century Viennese restoration methods. Great care was taken to preserve the authenticity, proportions, and historical character of the piece.
The surface is finished with a traditional, hand-applied French polish, executed entirely by hand, enhancing the natural beauty of the walnut while respecting the original Biedermeier aesthetic.
Authentic Viennese Biedermeier pedestal tables of this quality are extremely rare and increasingly difficult to find, particularly in such excellent condition.
This refined walnut table is a perfect complement to both classic and contemporary interiors. Biedermeier transcends fashion—it is truly timeless.
