This magnificent and generously sized Viennese Biedermeier table was crafted in Vienna around 1825–1830 and represents the very finest qualities of authentic Biedermeier furniture.
Viennese Biedermeier is celebrated for its perfectly balanced proportions, refined simplicity, and extraordinary craftsmanship. These rare pieces have profoundly influenced modern design and remain as relevant and desirable today as they were two centuries ago.
The table features a beautifully sculptural form. The elegant circular tabletop rests securely on a graceful vase-shaped central leg, which flows seamlessly into a finely crafted base. The overall silhouette is harmonious, architectural, and timeless.
The tabletop is veneered in exquisite walnut, expertly book-matched to create a striking star pattern. This is enhanced by a deep amber French polish finish and a rich, authentic patina developed over nearly 200 years, giving the surface exceptional warmth and character.
The table has been carefully restored in our Viennese workshop using only original, period-appropriate conservation methods. All work was carried out with the utmost respect for historical integrity, including a traditionally hand-applied French polish, ensuring both authenticity and longevity while preserving the original character of the piece.
The construction is robust and remarkably stable, reflecting the highest standards of early 19th-century Viennese cabinetmaking. Authentic large-scale Viennese Biedermeier tables are extremely rare, making this piece particularly desirable for discerning collectors and designers.
The table is in very good condition.
