About the Item

This nineteenth century Italian gueridon or pedestal table features a walnut and lemon wood marquetry top with an intricate inlaid geometric motif. Concentric borders of chevrons and checkered diamond patterns encircle the central multi-pointed star. A trompe l'oeil twisted ribbon of lemon wood details the apron, and a marquetry checkered pattern detail the three curved legs of its turned walnut pedestal column. An ideal piece for use as a center table or entry table, circa 1870.
