About the Item

A handsome Victorian walnut loo / games table, dating from the 19th century and displaying all the elegance one expects of the period. Constructed in well-figured walnut solids and veneer, the table features a finely patinated oval top with softly rounded edges, ideal for cards or traditional parlor games if you chose. The rich color and grain of the walnut have mellowed beautifully over time, offering a warm, understated presence. The top is supported on a turned and carved central pedestal, rising from a well-proportioned quadriform base terminating in elegant scroll feet, fitted with the original castors for ease of movement. The table is of good weight and balance, standing firmly with little wobble. In very good condition throughout, with only minor marks and wear commensurate with age and use, adding to its authentic Victorian character. The table remains both practical and decorative. A versatile and charming piece, equally suited to use as an occasional table or as a traditional games table, or breakfast table and a fine addition to any country house, townhouse, or period interior. In very good condition, with all the charm and craftsmanship expected of the period.
