About the Item

A charming American Eastlake walnut parlor table with beautiful patina. Born in the late 19th century, finished in the elegant and refined Victorian era style, having a rectangular top with ogee molded edge, over decorative shaped skirting with cut corners and burled walnut inlaid accents, atop a central column hand turned spindle support with drop finial, rising on four stylized bowed legs, accented with shaped panels of rich burlwood inlay and embellished with wooden buttons, the joined footed base terminating in the original cast iron and porcelain casters. circa 1890; United States. Ideal proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a side table, as a console against a wall, hall or sofa, placed in the center of a room as a cocktail drinks / centre table or in the foyer as a stunning entry statement piece! Good original antique condition. Presents splendidly. Nicely aged, warm, rustic patina over the whole, with rich antique walnut glow, superb grain detail, highly desirable organically distressed worn top, heavy signs of wear and tear collected from well over a century of use, including a large split separation across the center and stains. The imperfections do not affect use, but only add to the overall antique character, rustic charm and old, historic depth acquired over a life well lived.
