About the Item

A most attractive and unique Italian 19th century Baroque st. ebonized fruitwood and Scagliola center table. The rectangular table is raised by four 'S' scrolled legs with a reeded outer design and acanthus leaves at the back. The legs are joined by an 'X' stretcher with mottled band and a central finial. The straight apron has a twisted ribbon carved design below the raised top outer border. Above is the fitted original and extremely decorative Scagliola top. The top has a central oval faux marble center with a black border. Surrounding the central reserve are scrolled foliate tied branches with birds and colorful flowers.
