About the Item

A stunning Italian 19th century Baroque st. giltwood and faux painted Porphyry center table. The oblong shaped table is raised by impressive and most decorative scrolled foliate legs adorned with charming finely detailed floral carvings. Each of the legs are connected by a striking stretcher with beautiful mottled scrolled designs and a lovely topie shaped central finial. The apron displays exceptionally pierced scalloped movements with a central richly carved leaf. Above is the masterfully executed faux painted Porphyry top framed within a fine mottled border with a carved wrap around band of half rosette reserves.
