About the Item

A sensational and most unique Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated Wood, Mecca and Faux Painted Porphyry center table. This impressive table is raised on a square and richly patinated dark green Wood base supported on four circular plinths below the concave sides and protruding pawed Mecca feet. Each paw is joined to the scrolled central supports which are wrapped at the center by a large scale foliate Mecca reserve displaying acanthus leaves held by reeded bands. The scrolled supports curve outward towards the double mottled edge of the Faux Painted Porphyry top.
