Large Tiger Maple Tilt-top with Birdcage, probably Connecticut
$4,500List Price
About the Item
This table is truly a tour de force of tiger maple as the legs are selected additional or strong figured maple. Not only is the tiger wood quality of the very best, but the legs are beautifully sculptured with an interesting raised element on the knee. The column has an urn shape indicative of Connecticut work. The birdcage is an added feature that is desirable and appears in the very best tables (see detail). This table, over all, has a beautiful goldenglow and makes for a commanding presence in its high style country aspect.
