About the Item

MODERNIST ORGANIC PARQUETRY INLAID BIRCH CENTER TABLE Circa second quarter 20th century Item # 011QJP19Z This lovely table is unusual and so eye-catching! The top is an inlaid checkerboard pattern utilizing birch squares with alternating grain patterns and natural color variations surrounding a larger central square divided into triangles. The substantial apron is perfectly balanced against the weight of the root-like profile of the legs with their substantial arched stretchers. These clearly nod towards nature and the knobby trees with their soft organic profiles that would have inspired the shape. Finished in a glowing French polish, a very fine (and incredibly sturdy) presentation piece that views well from every angle. Measurements: 42 7/8" W x 25 7/8" D x 29 1/2" H Condition Report: Very minor scuffs and scratches to surface. Overall in excellent condition with good color and surface vibrance throughout.
