About Brugnoli Mobili Cantù
Brugnoli Mobili di Cantù is an important and famous workshop founded way back in 1934, an artisan company which since its origins has been committed to the creation of furniture with a new design, designed by important Italian and international architects, taking care of the executive quality and specificity in the use of materials: from the execution of wooden and metal inlays to the fusion of brass, from the use of precious and precious woods to the care and finishing of every single detail.
For this reason his furniture is well quoted and widespread both in Italy, in Europe and in the United States, receiving the most important awards and recognitions in all national and international exhibitions of the decorative arts
The Italian designer who worked the most for the Brugnoli company was Paolo Buffa, Ico e Luisa Parisi, Gio Ponti.
About Paolo Buffa
One of the greatest Mid Century Modern designers in Italy and in the world
The Italian architect-designer Paolo Buffa (1903-1970) was active between the '30s and' 60s. It is known for a series of furniture designs that combine neoclassical and art deco motifs with modernist principles. His pieces rarely include identifying marks, making them difficult to authenticate.
After receiving his architectural degree from the Politechnico di Milan in 1927. Buffa worked briefly in the studio of Gio Ponti and Lancia. By 1928 he had opened a studio with architect Antonio Cassi Ramelli with whom he designed a dining room for the 1930 Triennale exhibit. Not long after Buffa opened his own studio.
His furniture, stylish, comfortable and functional is often witty and exceptionally well made. Buffa furniture is known for it’s elegant Neoclassical lines, fine woods and beautiful intarsias. Best quality Buffa pieces marry classic Milanese taste with rigorous modern design. In terms of craftsmanship and high quality materials, Buffa’s best furniture, can be equal to that of the French master; Emile Jacques Ruhlmann.

History
The “Amedeo Cassina” of the brothers Cesare and Umberto Cassina was born in 1927 in Meda, Brianza. The main activity is woodworking, within the company, for the production of coffee tables. Over the years the company expanded, especially in the post-war period, also thanks to collaborations with external architects who brought their expertise and research.
In the 1950s Cassina moved from artisanal to serial production, adopting the logic of industrial design. A change also induced by the commission of furnishings for the interiors of large cruise ships. Furthermore, in this period some of the company's best-known products took shape: the 646 chair and the 699 chair...
