About the Item

Alain Richard Bench-Coffee table, Model 201, Ed. Meubles T.V., France, circa 1954. This beautiful and rare mid-century bench or coffee table exemplifies the elegance of Alain Richard’s designs, featuring varnished natural ash slats and a black iron frame. It is in good condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. It still bears the label “Création Alain Richard.” Alain Richard (1926-2017) was a renowned French decorator trained by René Gabriel. He took part in numerous projects, notably for Orly airport and the Banque de France, and founded his own agency. His awards include the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale and the Prix René Gabriel award. A similar model was reproduced in the magazine “Aujourd'hui Art Architecture #4, September 1955”.
