About the Item

This characterful coffee table was crafted in Spain during the 18th century and is made entirely of solid chestnut wood. It reflects the rustic and honest craftsmanship typical of rural Spanish furniture from that period. The broad tabletop is made from a single plank of chestnut, a rare feature that testifies to the impressive size and quality of the original tree. The top measures approximately 1 inch thick and displays a beautifully aged grain pattern with a warm, light brown tone. The front of the table houses two drawers, each fitted with original hand-forged iron ring pulls. The drawer fronts show the irregularities and texture of handwork, lending the piece an unmistakable authenticity. The square legs are slightly splayed, giving the table a sturdy yet elegant stance. Countless small traces of use have developed into a wonderful patina over time — a testament to centuries of daily life. In our workshop, the table was carefully cleaned and given a fresh wax finish, reviving the natural glow and depth of the wood. The table is clean, solid, and ready for everyday use. A truly atmospheric and genuine piece of furniture that will harmonize beautifully in both classic and country-style interiors.
