About the Item

This Bauhaus coffee table is a rare, three-legged circular variation related to the B10 table type designed by Marcel Breuer in the early 1930s. Produced around 1936 by Drabert Stahlmöbelfabrik in Minden, Germany, the table reflects the functional and material-driven design principles of the Bauhaus period. The construction combines a chromed tubular steel base with a lacquered block-board tabletop, emphasizing clarity of form, structural logic, and visual lightness. Notably, the table retains its original Bauhaus red lacquer finish, a color scheme closely associated with early modernist interiors of the period. Comparable examples of this table type, albeit in lower versions, are documented in prominent institutional and private collections, including the former private collection of Professor Florian Hufnagl, longtime director of the Neue Sammlung in Munich. An authentic Bauhaus-era piece with strong provenance and sculptural presence, preserved in untouched , highly museum-quality original condition. Tubular steel professionally polished. Original Bauhaus red spirit lacquer with age-related wear, minor paint losses, and a beautiful, authentic patina.
