Mosaic and solid bronze table designed by Berthold Müller. Germany, 1950s.

Berthold Müller (1893-1979) was a German sculptor and muralist who specialised in sacred art and mosaics. He studied sculpture in Bielefeld and Berlin, where he developed an expressive style linked to religious themes. In the 1920s and 1930s he produced numerous works and international exhibitions of sacred art. After the Second World War he settled in Kressbronn, where he promoted regional cultural life and continued to create mosaics and sculptures. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1968 for his artistic contribution.

He collaborated with international companies such as Mobilier International (France) and designed for private and corporate clients. His work includes iconic Mid-Century Modern furniture, such as the Shamrock Table.
