About the Item
With its hand-cast smoken crystal glass top and masterfully forged bronze frame, this oval coffee table by German sculptor and blacksmith Lothar Klute is a rather substantial yet elegant piece of furniture in the brutalist style.
Known for his raw and solid forms focusing on texture and organic shapes, Klute's background as a trained blacksmith is evident in the craftsmanship displayed in the tapered legs on which an iron band supports the bubbly glass top. The patinated straps and rivets where the table legs meet the iron band are beautiful detail, which give this table its unique look and feel.
Both the glass top and bronze frame are in very good condition!
This is a sculptural statement piece, which will grace its new home with understated confidence.
