About the Item

Brutalist railroad table showcasing the distinctive style of renowned French designer Pierre Chapo. Constructed from golden-toned solid wood, the piece features an impressively thick 4.25-inch planked top that demonstrates the raw material beauty characteristic of Chapo's aesthetic philosophy. Two massive perpendicular slab legs create the railroad tie construction that defines this architectural approach to furniture design. Handsomely crafted in the Netherlands, the table exemplifies the Mid-Century Brutalist movement's emphasis on monolithic forms and honest material expression. The substantial construction and low profile create a commanding sculptural presence while maintaining the functional simplicity that made Chapo's designs so influential during the 1960s and 1970s. Table shows wear consistent with age and use, maintaining impressive overall condition that speaks to its sturdy construction and quality craftsmanship.

Very unique oak handmade massive slays of tree. The top is patinated and shows various shades of brown/brownish colors and honey tones. Elegant and brutalist describe that table properly. The height is 31.5 cm and is 86 cm x 66 cm. Very strong table. Lovely coffee table.
