About the Item
A beautifully primitive Naga daybed, hand-carved from a single timber slab and supported by stout cylindrical legs. Originating from the hill tribes of Northeast India, daybeds such as this were traditionally used both for seating and rest within village homes and morungs (communal youth houses). The surface bears a time-worn patina — uneven, tactile, shaped by decades of touch and daily life.
Its organic silhouette and raw edges speak to a pure material presence, making it an exceptional sculptural element in modern interiors.
