About the Item
The "cOre" Side Table is a UHPC concrete piece designed by Sebastian Bergne for Forma&Cemento. Part of the "cOre" capsule collection, it takes inspiration from coring techniques used in cutting stone and concrete, translating these industrial gestures into a refined design language.
Its sculptural silhouette, marked by rhythmic curves and recessed lines, evokes the traces left by extraction — as if the table itself were cut and released from a larger mass. The play of convex and concave surfaces creates a dynamic profile that changes with the light, reinforcing the sense of an architectural fragment shaped by both precision and removal.
Characterized by the distinctive sanded effect, the surface reveals the grains of the Tevere river sand embedded in the mix, linking the design to the Roman territory while enhancing its tactile richness. While inspired by coring, each piece is actually created through a bespoke mold pour, into which are integrated fragments and leftovers from previous castings — a deliberate choice that reinforces the commitment to sustainability. Minimal yet expressive, the cOre Low Table embodies a dual nature: raw and refined, essential and iconic.

Forma&Cemento's products are handmade in Ultra High Performing Cement mortar! Our production process is completely artisanal and for this reason each piece is unique and no two are the same. To preserve the beauty of our concrete and highlight its peculiar features we use colour pigments which are poured directly into the concrete mixture.
Any imperfections on the surface such as chromatic variations, porosity, fine cracks, and granulations of different colors are characteristics of the material and of the artisan process;for this reason they are not to be considered defects.

The product range includes furniture and furnishings for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The material itself and the artisanal craftsmanship of each piece make every item unique.
