About the Item
This elegant antique French oval coffee table was crafted circa 1920 and reflects refined Belle Époque taste with Louis XV revival influence. The tilting oval top is framed by a finely worked silvered copper gallery, retaining a softly aged patina with warm undertones visible at points of wear, consistent with period silvering techniques. The surface is finished with a decorative printed paper top under glass, displaying an ornate botanical motif inspired by 18th-century chinoiserie and Rococo designs, with scrolling branches and stylized floral elements arranged in a balanced and harmonious composition.
The top is supported by a graceful forged iron base with arched legs joined by a shaped central stretcher, providing both stability and visual lightness.
