Round coffee table with faience top signed Leduc and made in Vallauris.
This table is a part of the "Garrigue" serie.
Garrigue is the specific name for Mediterranean vegetation. You can see on this table oleander, fern, pistachio, mullberry bush and olive branches, typical vegetation of Provence and Côte d'Azur.
French, midcentury
Raymonde Leduc is famous for using plants from the Provençal garrigue to inlay the decoration of her ceramic pieces. Leduc was a student of Roger Capron, the master ceramist from Vallauris, France. Capron's creations contributed to a veritable renaissance in pottery and ceramics during that period, and he left behind a considerable body of internationally renowned work that is collected around the world.
