Primitive Belgian Coffee Table in Solid Oak, circa 1900
A striking primitive-style coffee table composed of authentic reclaimed oak elements dating to the transition period around 1900. This sculptural Belgian piece is assembled from two original parts: a thick, organically shaped tabletop sourced from a dismantled mill beam, and a cylindrical oak base once used to support hanging boats. Both components remain structurally untouched.
The tabletop has been lightly finished in recent years—possibly oiled, waxed, or stained—to enhance the natural grain and deepen the warm patina, while preserving the character of the aged wood. The result is a powerful, tactile object with a monolithic presence and timeless appeal.
