About the Item
Fantastic French bronze coffee or cocktail table made in the manner of Rene Drouet. Constructed in the neoclassical taste featuring an x form base with decorative loops centered by a rosette. Conjoined with a solid stretcher that tapers in the middle. Designed from solid pieces of metal finely cast with beautiful details. Could support several different sizes and shapes of glass tops.

A decorator as well as furniture designer, Rene Prou was born in Nantes and educated in Paris. He studied at the Ecole Bernard-Palissy in Paris and shortly thereafter joined the design house, Gouffé.
