Small Handcrafted Coffee Table in Reclaimed Poplar Wood by Vicent Orts.
This handcrafted small wooden coffee table by Valencia-based designer Vicent Orts is part of his “Clops i Plots” collection, developed during the Entorns Creative Residency (June 2023).
The table is made from reclaimed poplar wood planks, known locally as “Pots de Clop”, salvaged from the rubble of old rural houses. Each plank is carefully restored, giving the wood a second life while preserving its authentic character and patina.
Inspired by traditional farming methods used to repair doors, the design reflects the pragmatism and resourcefulness of rural environments. The collection challenges conventional ideas of material use, sparking a conversation about temporality and circular design practices. By prioritizing local and waste materials, Orts creates sustainable, contextually meaningful objects that combine timeless craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic.
This coffee table is a unique collectible piece, adding warmth, authenticity, and narrative depth to any interior.
