About the Item
Cometabolism (Yafei Yang and Ning Zhang)'s new collection, Transmission, is now on view at the Era of Encore exhibition at the Times Art Museum jointly organized by the Beijing Dangdai Art Fair. Curated by Dong Bao, the artistic director of the Beijing Dangdai Art Fair, the exhibition focuses on the youngest artists under 35, featuring over 60 works by 32 artists. Among these, 26 are newly created pieces specifically for the exhibition, encompassing mediums such as painting, installation, and video.
ABOUT THE WORK:
Leather stencil is one of the traditional production tools for Chinese batik. Like most information and images that have been destroyed by time, there are currently very few craftsmen who make leather stencils, and many of the existing leather stencils are also incomplete.This production process and state precisely reflect the transmission and results of information in today's society - infinite channels and massive information fragments, as well as the constantly missing information subjects.
