About the Item

A large free-form coffee table in the spirit of George Nakashima. Made in France by anonymous artist. A spectacular slice of tree forms the sensual "free-form" top of this table, including its surrounding bark and internal veinures, fixed on 3 hammered conical wooden legs. This is a great example of French Mid-Century Modern "return to je nature" movement, adapting modern shapes to traditional knowledge, in opposition to "modernist" tendencies following technical growth for the masses.
