About the Item

Console table hand-made in Italy in the early 1700s using walnut. This table comes from an estate in the area of Frascati, on the hills east of Rome, where well-to-do Roman families have for centuries gone to escape the summer heat of the city. The table has stunning color, character and proportions: large enough to make an impression but small enough to be placed pretty much anywhere. Because it is finished on all sides (as shown in the video) this console table could also be free standing in middle of a room, if that is what is needed in the space. With a knee clearance of 58.6 cm (22.8) inches, this console table could also be used as a writing desk or craft desk. The large drawer found under the top could be a perfect space to store stationary, pens, colors etc. The table has beautiful curved lines both on the top as well as the bottom. The hand-carved lyre legs and scalloped stretcher give it elegance anda timeless look, making it also a highly decorative piece. The walnut color gives it a welcoming and homey feel. Because of its size, color, character and overall lines this is a piece that can be dressed up or down and will look great in any setting.
