About the Item

This stunning Console Table was made by Andrew from an Original 1950's wrought iron balcony rail that has had its fixing forks carefully cut off to make it smooth ended and perfect to fit against a wall. Andrew found this in an architectural salvage yard and had the wrought iron metal work lovingly cleaned and very carefully realigned so that the curls are all evenly spaced. The wrought iron has been treated with anti rust/ corrosion paint and then very carefully powder coated in a very smart antique white finish to compliment the top The top is cut and hand polished from 2cm/ 0.8" thick, finest Italian white Dolomite Marble with its characteristic lilac grey veins running on the diagonal predominantly to one side so as not to over take the piece but add a hint of depth to the right hand end of the table A truly unique piece with history and character to grace any room and also works perfectly as a radiator cover. These beautiful hand-carved solid hardwood Side Tables in Mahogany and hand applied 24Ct Gold Leaf finish were entirely hand-crafted by the wonderful Florentine craftspeople at Gallo SNC in Florence Italy. This beautifully designed table hand carved from solid wood has 3 tapering fluted legs, rosette details to the top of each leg around the banding with acanthus leaf feet and carved rope trim detail to the base of the banding - all accentuated with precious metal leaf. The glass top also features a 1"/ 2.5cm deep bevelled edge - super chic and with elegant design details Established in 1910 by Luciano Gallo who specialised in furniture and boat building, he established his business in furniture and lighting manufacture after WWII.
