19th Century Original Red Painted Swedish Pine Farm Table Console 19th-century Swedish pine farm table retaining its original red painted surface and traditional country form. The table features tapered legs and a single drawer fitted with a drop pull. The brick red painted base displays a faux wood/marbling technique that was a traditional folk art motif of the era. The tabletop shows age-related plank separation, nicks/gouges, cracks. Old repairs are seen, particularly visible where the legs meet the skirt, reflecting long use and early construction methods. Additional evidence of age includes traces of dried old wormhole activity along the skirt and legs, as well as wear to the legs/feet consistent with a utilitarian farm table. These elements contribute to the table’s authentic character and surface history. Restored, strong, and stable, this Swedish farm table is ready for use and offers a classic example of original painted Scandinavian country furniture suitable for dining, work, or display.
