Figure incontournable de l’art cinétique au Brésil, Abraham Palatnik réalise cette console exceptionnelle en 1961. Reposant sur quatre pieds fins en métal et dotée de deux plateaux inférieurs en fer, la pièce se distingue par son plateau supérieur en verre peint, un support de prédilection pour l’artiste. Ce dernier est orné de motifs colorés et ludiques, minutieusement réalisés, faisant de la console une œuvre d’art à part entière.
Artiste pluridisciplinaire, peintre, sculpteur, inventeur, Palatnik n’a cessé d’explorer de nouveaux matériaux et langages visuels. Cette pièce rare témoigne de son génie et de sa capacité à transposer l’esthétique cinétique dans le domaine du mobilier.
