About the Item
American Empire mahogany flip top console table. Circa 1850-75. Smaller homes required smaller furniture with multiple purposes. Beautiful simple construction with doweled legs and solid wood construction. The rear gate leg swings out and the top flips over for a larger steady and durable surface. Five turned legs on ball feet. Dark finish.
Fair condition with overall wear, some light scratches, finish losses, dings, bruises, and minor tight splits due to age. Structurally sturdy. Some old filled and colored screw holes.
The approximate measurements are 20" deep x 47.5" wide x 29.75" high. Approximate dimensions when one are 40.5" deep.
