A magnificent and ornate piece of small furniture, this Italian corner console table embodies the rich decorative traditions of the Baroque Revival style. Crafted from wood, the table features a striking contrast between its deep blue lacquered finish and the meticulously applied gilded details.
The console is designed to fit elegantly into a corner, making it a perfect statement piece for an entryway, living room, or hallway. Its half-round, or "demi-lune," top is finished in a glossy black lacquer, accented with a gold-leaf border. The surface shows some signs of age and wear, adding to its authentic vintage charm.
The base of the table is a true testament to the Baroque Revival aesthetic. It features three gracefully curved legs, each adorned with carved acanthus leaves and scrolls, all highlighted in shimmering gold leaf over the dark blue lacquer. The legs are connected by a gilded, carved frieze, creating a sense of grandeur and intricate detail.
