About the Item

A sensational and most decorative pair of Italian 19th century Baroque st. patinated Wood, Giltwood and white Carrara marble consoles. This stunning pair of freestanding consoles, with their original white Carrara marble tops, are raised by four impressively scrolled cabriole legs accented with Giltwood acanthus leaves and patinated off white foliate designs. The four legs are joined by a stately X shaped stretcher with a central Rocaille designed reserve. Above is the scalloped frieze with a central scrolled Giltwood reserve, flanked by large Giltwood scrolls to each side. At the top of the frieze is a double mottled Giltwood band all below the original white Carrara marble tops with ogee outer edges.
